It's funny. I'm an audiophile with a huge music collection on vinyl CD DVD SACD DVDA and Blu Ray, planar magnetic speakers in a 7.2 channel surround sound system, and a processor that can mimic 25 different environments from a jazz club to a cathedral to a stadium.
But in my cars, I almost never use the audio system. My current car has a 9 speaker Bose system. It's not bad. My prior Mercedes SUV lump of shit had an Infinity audio system which was again not bad. But I hardly ever used that either.
A car is an environment that is never gonna compete with the experience I get at home. Road noise. Traffic. A/C or heater blowing air. I'm spoiled. My listening room at home has been treated for standing waves and damping reinforcement of low frequencies from corner reflections.
But also, I just like to hear what's going on around me in a car.
Yes, I always play with them. I have a new car and just dialed in how I like it. I do find it annoying that on one song I want bass but then later it’s too much on another type of song so I give up at times.
With some cars you can adjust where the sound is perfect so I move that to in between the driver and passenger as that is where people are mainly.
Yes, I am! I had a friend that would always mess with them, in MY CAR, because she liked a lot of bass. I told her when she gets her own car, she can set them any way she wants but not in my car lol It also pissed me off how she would change the radio station within seconds of getting in my car! She was a problem child!
Yes. Super sensitive hearing here. Often to the point of annoying.

Does it bother you when songwriters can't think of fill in chorus so they just hum a tune?
It doesn't put a dent in a day but it bugs me when the parts come up. I have gone so far as to remove them before when an otherwise great song is made to feel unfinished.
I also cut out the second Dumbledore from the HP movies back in the day, since I'm in the mood for sharing, made for much more enjoyable screen time. Allowing the mind to fill in with the books,
I truly appreciate a well-balanced sound system! It's amazing how adjusting the bass, treble, equalizer, and balance can transform a car audio experience. 🎶 Whether I'm cruising to a film soundtrack or jamming to some indie tunes, I love tailoring the sound to match the mood. It's a subtle yet impactful way to enhance the journey, making music come alive in a unique way!

It's gotta be perfect.
I used to be one of those teenagers with a $40,000,000,000 stereo system in a $400 car, and even though I grew out of that a long, long time ago, I'm still particular about the audio settings on my radio.
Otherwise it just sounds like crap.
I don't think it's that important in a car. You get distracted by all the noises from outside anyway.
I find it's important when I'm home and actively listen to music, mostly with headphones for better sound.
Yes, very much so. I need the best sound quality possible. That is another reason I can't tolerate music through a phone or streaming music apps.
In my new car I don't know how to adjust the treble and so on. But it has a good sound system and the only thing I adjust is the volume.
I listen to audiobooks and music on the car stereo and it's important that I balance the speakers to the right "location" in the car for the stereo effect to be possible.
Yes. I'm actually worse in that I tend to sort of "remaster" songs to my tastes before I even put them on media for the car.
Yes! It's gotta be PERFECT. Touch it & regret it!
I have it set already and nobody drives my car anyway, so it doesn’t matter
I have a dual 31 band graphic eq on my home system so yeah it’s gotta be perfect
everywhere, yes... not just the cars
Agreed
I just like to crank it up.
Bad hearing problem so sound is messed up
I don't have a car.
Me, no.
