DJ Khaled is Palestinian but uses the "n word" in some of his songs?

Anonymous
I'm curious, if white people ever bring up the "n word" it causes huge controversy. George Zimmerman, who isn't even white kills Treyvon Martin (which was uncalled for) and it ignites Al Sharpton and other pro-black advocates. So this DJ who is lighter skinned than me can refer to himself and black men using the "n word". Just makes me confused? It's 2012, the President of the US is black and there is still huge issues with race. Why can DJ Khaled speak of himself and refer to others as this, and it's acceptable? Whereas if Timmy Tom from Alabama does, there is a rally in town over it? Please clarify?
