Guys, what do "high fives" mean?

This guy pretty much every time he sees me gives a high five...is it a sign of friendship or something else?

To me it means good job / way to go or a means of celebration and showing camaraderie or teammateship (not a word but I'm using it).

Last time I initiated a high five with a girl was after we finished off our jog with a sprint. It was to say "nice job". I'm pretty sure I vocalized those words as well.

Last time a girl high fived me was after a workout. I'm guessing she was saying the same thing.

Hey, if you were a guy, you'd realize how hard it is to get laid. We are genuinely happy that our friend was able to relieve some stress and finally break through. It is an accomplishment, as well as being enjoyable!

They can mean anything from praise to something you do when excited, its a sign of friendship because you usually high five your friends unless you like to high five random people.
