What is boyfriend material?

I have been talking to this girl for quite some time and I know she likes me. The other night she called me "boyfriend material". I've never been called it before and no one has given me a clear answer. So what exactly is "boyfriend material"?

You're caring and warm towards her. Not quite "bending over backwards" with sappy junk, but willing to provide support and comfort when she needs it -- and willing to accept it from her in return. You've got her back -- you're not that "slam her and run" type or the guy who hangs out with a girl just because she's hot and it makes you look like a star to walk around next to her. Your smile tells her she's sexy but you don't paw her like an animal (in public anyhow, lol). You're a sweet combo of the nice guy and the rebel... I could go on for a while, or you could read *Pride and Prejudice*, which is shorter than my full list.

For these and whatever other reasons of her own (which you should ask her), he has knighted you as "Boyfriend Material" and expects you to do justice to the title... Will you? :)

Such a good answer! This was the first time I've been called boyfriend material so I was curious. But I do believe that I haven't bended over backwards for her because I knew she liked me and was gonna play the cool guy. But thank you! Clarified so much!

But I believe boy friend material is a well rounded type of guy willing to settle down.

So, he is not a man whore or player or a guy focused on money and material things...

He is most likely a family person who is chilvarous with his women.

To me boyfriend material is a guy that knows how to treat a girl. Someone who is respectful, caring, loyal, and well someone who can stand on his own two feet. I think boyfriend material is when a guy is ready for a serious relationship. Some girls might have different opinions but this is my opinion hope I helped you out somehow,
