What does it mean if a guy asks your opinion on his appearance?

Me and a guy have been fooling around and one day he asked me if I liked his hair long or if he should cut it, and I said he should cut it shorter but leave some so its just a little scruffy. And he did exactly as I said. I'm trying not to read too much into it, but I don't know if he ment something more by it...what do you think?
