Highlights in the hair are unprofessional?

having highlights in your hair (lighter blond on natural dirty blond hair) is unprofessional? someone told me this and I think it's ridiculous. what do you think?

It depends where you work.

Maybe if you meant streaks, then streaks are ugly as and they can be unprofessional. Not wanting to be mean but streaks are the most ugliest things that hairdressers ever created. It should be left for the 90s. I think you should just have some slight highlights that give you hair color some tone to it.

they aren't streaky they are blended overall my hair just looks blond. not stripey.

Well no they don't look unprofessional. Ugh who the hell told you that? some older woman? Don't worry about it. Just do your job properly and I don't think that anyone will care. One day, I was wearing a fuschia pink lipstick and a customer blatantly told me that it was unprofessional and that I looked cheap! I said to her "well, at least my boss is OK with it and many guy love it and I am good at my job and that is all that matters".

It might be with some places/people. I was told unnatural hair colors is unprofessional.

Wow at an answer or two on this but most highlights do look tacky honestly but should not be labeled as not professional or vice versa
