Why would she call me pumpkin?

I'm a muscular and handsome guy and never been called pumpkin before. This girl I'm dating keeps calling me pumpkin. Why would she call me that? Isn't pumpkin meant to be for children or someone far and ugly?

2. No Pumpkin is a common endearing word called by women to men and vice versa

3. I stand 6' tall, atheletic muscular body, deep voice and poker face (though frequently described as 'strkingly handsome') - known to have a fiery temper (I don't lose it actually - I use it as a tool) and I am today a 41 yo but my mom calls me endearing names, my ex-girlfriends and ex-wife called me all sorts of endearing names through time.

So buddy, chill - she sees you as masculine etc all that you want to be seen as but just that she's very much in love with you and in such a situation they tend to find the loved one cute; hence the term :D

If she gave you a nickname, it means she adores you. Girls only give nicknames to things they like. There must be a cause of that nickname, but I don't know it. Only she does. But it's not a bad thing.
