Guys, what do you mean when you say-Call me anytime.

I wrote this guy a letter because I thought he didn't want to talk to me over the phone. I told him this in the letter: I felt he didn't want to talk to me on the phone so I wrote him. I had something important I wanted to tell him regarding my feelings about him. Once he read the letter he called me that evening. He asked me why did I write that I told him. He claimed it is what I thought and that I can call him anytime I want to. I told that is how it seems at times he replied by saying no that I act that way. I didn't discuss it any further with him. we talked for hour and half. Did the guy mean it or was just playing with me? or what?

I say that as well. Its a lazy way of saying "I couldn't be bothered calling you, or I'm not in the mood for calling you right now, but you can call me if you wish, I will never say no." But seriously, he is probably very annoyed that you are questioning him so much, it comes across as you not trusting him and maybe being a little insecure, which your boyfriend most likely doesn't like (if he doesn't mind, he's a good guy!)

Yeah, message me if you wanna further discuss, I tried to be brutally honest and I didn't intend to hurt feelings.

he is not my boyfriend. he is a guy I like and consider to be a friend. I am not sure after he started acting like this if he is my friend. I told him I liked him and wanted to be with him and he said, "i'll think about it." He hasn't responded back. It has been a week and a half. Am I such a bad catch. I will never be that open with my feelings again.

I say "call me anytime" out of simple politeness. Kinda makes people feel better I guess, plus I know it's unlikely that they're going to call me in the middle of the night (and I turn sound off on my cellphone at night anyway).
