Does it mean you're taken?
Or you just want to let guys know to stop hitting on you?
It was a high school thing for my friends, if a girl was taken, she would wear a ring on her ring finger, but on her right hand, since they weren't engaged or anything. But that was just what they did; I don't think that's done in most places. I sometimes wear a ring on my middle finger, or on the ring finger of my right hand, just because it fits best there, but I tend not to put anything on my ring finger on my left hand, because it feels like that should be more special, to me. But other people I know don't feel that way, and wear their rings wherever they feel like. Your best bet is probably something like "Those are interesting rings, any story behind them?" That's how I found out that one of my friends was wearing a purity ring (she was a bit surprised that I didn't know what it was, but we come from different backgrounds).
That's cool, I didn't know that. My friends in high school wore rings that their boyfriends gave them, though. Cheap rings, but sparkly.
I never wear rings on my wedding ring finger, partly because I don't want people to think I'm engaged or married and then question it but also because it's too thin and barely any ring fits it. I have considered getting a fake ring to put on when going clubbing but my mum is against the idea for some reason.
I don't see how putting a ring on your middle finger would symbolise anything. From what I know, the middle finger doesn't symbolise anything related to love/relationships.
But I'm the kind of person who'd wear a fake engagement ring to stop guys from hitting on me.
I know a lot of girls who wear rings on any finger (including both left and right ring fingers which represent marriage or engagement) and to them it means nothing. They just wear it on whatever finger it fits or looks better on!
A ring on the middle finger doesn't usually mean anything. A ring on the ring finger of the left hand usually means marriaged or engaged. And then there are other symbolic rings like the Claddah which can mean in relationship, single, engaged, or married depending on how it's worn.
Thank you, that's insightful.
What if two plain silver band were worn on both ring and middle finger, still doesn't mean anything?
If it's not the wedding band finger (left ring finger), it doesn't mean much besides she likes to wear rings. :-P

I wear a lot of rings, so there is always one on my wedding ring finger, but it's my great great uncle's school ring. I think you can tell it's a school ring too. I use to wear one so guys would stop hitting on me while I was on the bus. There are some creepers who ride the bus in my neighborhood. lol I have a promise ring, but I wear it on my right hand because it fits better there. It just depends on the girl really.
Unless I'm working or getting ready/in bed I'm always wearing at least three rings. It's honestly just a fashion thing. I don't know any girls who wear rings to ward off guys. UNLESS it's a wedding or promise ring, it probably means absolutely nothing.
I wear one on my marriage ring finger so men don't hit on me.
Other fingers don't really mean anything although silver rings on thumbs can mean she's a lesbian.
Some girls wear rings on marriage fingers because they're married; others wear it there because the ring doesn't fit any different fingers. It all depends on the girl.
I wear them on my ring finger all the time, but that's because becauseI think theylook pretty (no special meaning). The only reason it would have a special meaning is if it were a marriage/engagement ring, and you should be able to tell the difference.
What if it's a plain silver band?
It sounds like it's just a promise ring. Does she wear it all the time?
I'm not being specific. I just see women hanging around the campus wearing those.
If you can give me more insight about this, that would be appreciated. :)
Okay. Promise rings are usually more plain with maybe a couple of small stones and a cute design (worn on the left hand, ring finger), engagement rings are more elaborate and usually have the big diamond on them (worn on the left hand, ring finger), and wedding rings are plain bands(worn under engagement rings). Other rings are just worn anywhere. I hope this helped.
Also, some girls might not go around wearing their engagement rings, and only wear their wedding rings because they don't want to show off to potential robbers that they have money ( the big diamond is a give away)
I don't think so. Because I enjoy wear rings. I don't think it's means anything. In my opinion it's just part of fashion trends. U can see the difference in trendy style rings and rings that are taken or Sth.
It means the ring fits on that finger and that's where I want to put it. Unless it's an engagement ring or a wedding band, its placement on my fingers doesn't mean crap.
Ring finger is engaged or married . Any other finger is just like an accessory
I used to wear rings in my ring finger without even realizing it,
I'm guessing it means she wants to wear a ring. Don't read too much into things that probably don't mean anything.
That I like the ring lol. It doesn't mean anything beyond that it's pretty
I'm taken, (promise ring)i'm gaurding my virginity, or buzz off.
In my case, nothing. It's just another accessory girls like to wear.
it means I like rings
Doesn't that indicate if you're taken or not?
no it indicates that I like rings
If it's on your left hand ring finger it probably means she's taken but any other finger and it's likely just jewelry.
Sometimes I'm annoyed when guys try to hit on me, but most of the time I wear it because I LOVE jewelry haha
Left hand ring finger is for when you get engaged or married but other rings are just because they are cute
Umm I don't think it means any thing unless its on the left hand ring finger meaning engaged or married.
I wear rings for fashion and that's it. However, if my boyfriend got me a ring I would wear it in my right hand ring finger.
Depends on the age. If it has diamonds she might be married. If not she might just like rings
Rings are just pretty. Of course it still depends, some girls are actually taken
