What should I do if my boyfriend doesn't buy me gifts at all?

We've been dating for 6 months now and he only buys movie tickets and food sometimes. But if its expensive he makes me pay...

I have not received any flowers, no cupcakes, no teddy bears and not anything from him.

Last week was my birthday, and he just sent me a message. He didn't get me anything, not even a freaking card.

Im not the gold digger type, but it just frustrates me.. he's really cheap sometimes and like when he doesn't want to buy something, he just straight out says maybe you should pay...

I don't want to confront him because it sounds pathetic, but how can I be with someone who doesn't want to spend on me? Even if his financially poor.. he couldve just got me a cheap teddy bear and a card..

I know he loves me and I love him too but it really hurts watching all my friends getting spoilt where I'm lucky enough to get him to buy me lunch. AND HE IS SO NOT POOR. He spoils him self buying designer clothes and fancy watches.

I have hinted him by saying ohh I love flowers, theyre so pretty and I told him I love guys who buy flowers and teddy bears.. so wth? what should I do?

Have you brought this up with him? Maybe he's not used to buying gifts at all. I never expect anything, as it varies by the guy. My ex-boyfriend paid the cover to the bar the night of my birthday and got me jewellery for Christmas. I've been seeing my current guy longer, he pays for our cover for getting into events but I pay for my own food/drinks and pitch in to pay for some of the pool games we love to pay. So it varies by the guy. I've been on dates where I paid for everything and I've been on dates where the guy paid for everything. I've gotten jewellery, chocolate, flowers and clothes.

I suggest figuring out if his family isn't big on gifts or something like that. I had one guy friend show up with chocolate and flowers once at my door, he told me that his dad told him it was the right thing to do even if we weren't dating. For me, I don't gift things to the guy in my life unless its Christmas, Valentine's Day or his birthday. But I do small gestures for him to appreciate as often as I can. For example, my guy works long hours and I'll bring him coffee and supper if he's been out there all day. Or I'll wear that dress he bought me when its his first weekend off in 2 months. I don't expect him to buy me anything and when he does, I make a big deal out of it so that he knows it was appreciated and that I really didn't expect anything.

maybe he doesn't want buying stuff for each other to be part of the relationship, that's totaly normal and fine if he doesn't but you need to talk about it, if you can't talk about stuff then why even bother dating in the first place.

ive bought him his fave book, fave movie, 20 diff types of chocolate since I know he loves that, a designer watch and perfume, and I bought it all just to make him feel special, not for any specific reason.. I bought all this for him one month ago, but my friend helped me realized I spent so much on him and he hasnt... I still have it in my room..
