"I talk to god but the sky is empty" what's the meaning of it?

What's the meaning of this quote? What do you think?

You can read this a number of different ways. You will interpret it based on your experiences and needs.

He talks to God, but God doesn't exist. So basically he examines himself and takes comfort from himself.

He talks to God, but God isn't in the sky. God is all around us. God isn't a distant man in the heavens, but a life force in and around everything. It reminds me of that quote, "I sought to hear the voice of God, and climbed the topmost steeple, but God declared, 'Go down again. I dwell among the people.'" That was the first thing I thought of when I read this quote.

It could also mean that he talks to God, but God's response is silence. As in, God doesn't help. God doesn't interfere. That thought in and of itself can go in a few different directions.

For you, maybe. I definitely read as one of the other two, more likely the last. Sometimes God's answer is silence.

I think it means they pray to God and go through the motions of Christianity but they don't believe God actually exists.

It means, "God is everywhere." Not just in the sky, above everyone and separated.

The person in question wants to have faith in a 'God' ('I talk to God'), but acknowledges that there isn't one ('but the sky is empty'). Hope that helps... :o)

sounds like not feeling any reciprocity for there prayers ie they pray but nothing happens
