Why is this appetizer so expensive?

So I went to Ruby Tuesday's during Happy Hour, and so appetizers are all $5 then, but this one thing which is normally $8 was really good, but pretty small. I mean, that's a lot for such a small quesadilla. Also, what is the orange dipping thing called?

You paid for it didn't you? That's why they do it. Appetizers and drinks are where they make their money.

I very rarely get appetizers or desert, like less than once a year. The main meal is usually more than enough food. Appetizers are just something to do while you wait for the meal. I get a salad for a couple bucks to munch on until the main meal gets there. All those sides are a rip off. I usually don't get a drink either. I usually just order water and don't even drink that.

Normally they charge three times what it took to make it. That does seem a little high if you compare what you would get at a taqueria.

you can put poop in the middle of a white plate and charge whatever you want for it. it's called being''fancy'',pretentious and having too much money. that's how restaurants work.

Ruby Tuesday is a fairly mid-tier chain restaurant in the US.

well the price is set on the location and the service the restaurant has.

I think the sauce could be extra and I think it cheese sauce.

Probably because of the chicken in it. I'd guess the dipping thing is some kind of spicy mayo.
