Why did an ex say they will always care about you and love you?

When me and my ex broke up he told me he will always care about me and love me. What does it actually mean? Is it a good thing?

Well if you've shared experiences together and had a connection at some point then those feelings are really always there. Not necessarily in the romantic, I want to be with you sense but more in the sense that you obviously were an important part of his life. I feel the same about my ex. It doesn't mean I want to be with him, it just means I value and appreciate the time we had together and that he will always be a special person to me. It is what it is I guess. HE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU AND CARE ABOUT YOU.

I lied about other stuff in the past and most recent I texted a guy that I went on a few dates with and he asked who I was talking to and I said a friend which I should of said a guy who a went on a few dates with but he doesn't know that I moved but he found out from the guy and the guy who I went out on a few dates with thought we were in a relationship but he never asked me so I never thought we were

I don't know if you can get him back ... However what it means is that while he may not trust you he doesn't seem to regret, outside of his logical facilities anyway, his investment in you as a person. Good news.

Well he called yestrday about his stuff and we are meeting up in a week or so. Is that good or bad? I keep wonder if he misses me or still cares. That I cannot help with. I am not in any way a specialist in "re-winning" hearts. I imagine he cares but if he has gone on such a tactic to such an extreme it's likely so that he does not reconnect with you so I don't think you'll win him back. Someone else may know something I do not.
