Is it better to be naive and hopeful or experienced and jaded?

Naive and hopeful.

I know firsthand. I used to love life, then I learned how animalistic and primal humans are, especially women. Now I'm probably a misanthropist.

I'm not saying the bible or any religion isn't real, but be it real or not, it's shown to be good for humans. It gives life a meaning, and the individual purpose.

I've learned that we're merely animals and the only purpose in life is receiving dopamine and replicating our genes. Driven like bacteria.

Life was much more enjoyable when I were naive.

For self-health, it's probably better to swallow the "blue pill", to paraphrase your analogy. I would fall under the 'experienced and jaded' category and I sometimes wish I wasn't aware of all the problems in the world so I wouldn't constantly feel like slapping the sh*t out of everyone / invoking an apocalypse.

To be experienced and jaded of course! I'm already experienced and jaded anyway.

To be naive and hopeful means to be hurt again most of the time.at least for me.

But I'm quite a balaced person,I think.

So I always hope for the best and expect the worst.

It's better to be naive and hopeful in my opinion, because it sums up life in a way, you go through life to increase you're knowledge and wisdom and once you have lived you're life to the fullest how can you be naive?

I'm definitely naive and hopeful and I definitely prefer it that way. I'm trusting and optimistic and I see good and beauty everywhere I go, which I believe makes me a happier person.

jaded. because you look at life more realistically due to experience.

if you are naive and hopeful you'l be in for a lifetime of letdowns, upsets, failures, and heartbreak. I wish I had known some of the things I know now when I was younger. I'm not a pessimist or an optimist... just a realist.

What you have suggested is a false dichotomy, it is possible to be a whole range of conditions. Ideally, you would be experienced and hopeful, the sign of an adult and someone that is open to intimacy.

It is better to be naive and hopeful than experienced and jaded. I fall under the former; I still believe all kinds of nonsense that the logical, cold part of me knows is totally based on incorporeal concepts like "The Human Spirit".

That's a really tough question. It's probably better to be naive and hopeful, but I think everyone becomes experienced and jaded eventually probably. Honestly, probably naive and hopeful is what I fall under.

I really miss being Naive. Life is so much happier and simpler when your not obsessing about all the worlds problems and all the bad things in life. But I guess its better than living in a fools paradise.
