What does "Your Boyfriend must be lucky" exactly mean?

I hate this statement because it's so passive aggressive in my opinion. What are you guys hoping to hear? I mean if she offers her status is that what you are hoping? In which case wouldn't it be easier to ask her if she has a boyfriend right out? Not trying to be mean I just always wondered...

It means that you are probably very attractive, and you seem like a great person.

Women like that are hard to find.
