What were the darkest years for the 1990s decade? Many people mention how dark and dreary the 90s were during that time and how it impacted things at the time for teens and children in grade school compared to the more upbeat 1980s and 2000s, it always seemed as though the 1990s was trying to find it's niche somehow.

There were two waves of this dark and dreary time, the first wave was the more severe though.

Were the 1970s the pinnacle of African-American culture and expression? Do you think we'll ever get close to it again? Black people seemed more unified in the 1970s; black music was authentic and arguably at its peak; and social consciousness and togetherness seemed to be at their height in that era.
