for a while there, it was the biggest story in America. you couldn’t pick up a newspaper — or turn on your TV — without hearing about how Joe Biden is old. so old! ancient! how did this happen? how can someone be this old? how is he even still alive? so ollllld!!!

the press hounded Joe until he finally dropped out of the race. but here’s the thing: Joe Biden could have avoided all this controversy just by being A Very Special Boy, like Don is — because if you point out to any of the worthless scribblers of the corporate-controlled media that Donny is old, too, you’re going to get an earful of well of course he is. so what? cut the guy some slack.

yesterday, the Daily Beast attempted to answer the question why is Donny holding so few hate-rallies? in the piece, we get none of the oh my god, how can anyone this old lead a country hyperventilation that we got during any of the Joe must go hysteria. all we get is a dry and uncritical recitation of here’s what a Trump Campaign spokesman told us — but the Beast did manage to end the piece with a gratuitous smack in the face to Harris and Walz.

in 2000, when Kamala was San Francisco’s assistant district attorney, Kimberly Gargoyle — of all people! — was looking for a job in the DA’s office and Kamala told her to fuck straight off. twenty four years later, the Times desperately wants this to be a scandal, and so they’ve dutifully typed up Gargoyle’s version of the story

Washington Post pushed a piece about Kanala failing as space czar. “space czar?” how in the name of Buck Rogers is this an actual campaign issue? the author of the piece, by the way, is a Trump Administration toady. so yeah, fair and balanced.

Trump forgets what country a world leader is from, what state he's in, confuses Nikki Hayley with Nancy Pelosi, forget he's not running against Obama, says stuff about airports in the American Revolution, and MAGA cheers, but when Biden forgets something or mistakes someone for someone else, MAGA cries "Biden's senile!"

In most relationships/marriages the man is higher earning, older and more intelligent. That’s how men attract women typically. Men attract women by being better than them.

So how can they be 100% equal on decisions, that’s the woman holding the man back. The man should be leading and mostly in charge.

I don't mean how often do you seriously consider cheating. I mean how often are you just momentarily tempted to cheat.

I find that weird because who’s she to tell me what I should want.

My experience: It took a few months to remember to bring bags into store with you but once that habit was ingrained I don't even notice EXCEPT it takes a TINY BIT longer each checkout & I've noticed cashiers are MUCH more willing to help bag stuff now. All in all it seems like a good idea. Many corporate stores gave out canvas or polymer bags at 1st (some still do 3 years later) so you could show off their logo for free advertising for them (you've really gotta just admire the amazing system capitalism is!).

Here's my concern, the fact remains that recycling is just not economically feasible to break even, let alone make a profit. These are some statistics about recycling which vary greatly by region:

In the United States, only about 35% of TOTAL waste is recycled or composted, according to the EPA. Specifically, plastic recycling rates are particularly low, with only 5% to 9% of plastics actually being recycled. Paper & cardboard fare better, with about 66% being recycled. Glass recycling stands at approximately 27%. These figures highlight significant inefficiencies and challenges in the recycling process, including contamination & economic factors that limit the recyclability of certain materials.

If you ever watched the Penn & Teller show "Bullshit" (where they expose common misperceptions), they did an episode on recycling that was eye-opening (still available to view on Paramount+ & Fubo but $ versions).

As a "radical commie liberal Marxist sheeple" as I've been called here I must say that initially I was for recycle everything but now I'm not so sure recycling in the USA is feasible economicly - especially if my tax dollars are subsidizing a losing fight! I now understand the obvious, that Europe is able to pull off amazing feats of recycling but they are much smaller and already have the infrastructure in place - neither of which applies to the United States. The end result of the Penn & Teller show (spoiler alert) is we recycle cuz it feels good.

I am not anywhere near where I dreamed I’d be. When I was a freshman in college at 17, my dream was to be an aerospace engineer at Boeing and to be living in Seattle. Now, at almost 29, I’m a software engineer working at a startup and living in Austin.

One of my aerospace classmates, before I switched majors, had the dream to be working at NASA and living in Houston. They got everything they dreamed of and then some.
