We have a president who in a time of war is obsessed with erecting monuments to himself, putting his name on buildings, putting marble and gold leaf all over the White House, punishing people he considers enemies, enriching himself and his family, and playing golf at public expense. Meanwhile, this is a losing war.

Have you had enough now?

Back in the classic eras of the '80s and '90s, neo-noirs and erotic thrillers centered around a dangerous, captivating female lead were incredibly popular. Today, Hollywood rarely touches these genres. Do you think modern audiences would embrace a revival if a filmmaker brought a completely fresh face into the lead role, combined with a unique, modern plot that completely fits today's world? Or has the cinematic landscape shifted too much for a traditional femme fatale story to thrive at the box office today?

I’d say this is probably at its peak among Americans, and it’s an important trait that sets them apart from Europeans

Around here, the streets are very active even at 9 p. m. — people of all ages are either at cafés or just walking around outside. My relatives who came from Belgium were really surprised to see this. Apparently, though, Europeans have a saying: “After 9 p. m., the only things you’ll find outside are dogs and Turks.”

If you ask me, this feels like an activity for people who have nothing better to do. Westerners really do wake up early and go to bed early, which is admirable. Arabs are more like us in this regard. But perhaps the daytime heat also has something to do with it. I don’t know about Italy and Spain, though
