Why would Luigi Mangione plead guilty if he still risks life in prison?

Misspelling for last name, I get it. But what I don’t get is the purpose of the plea. The feds are still going to want life for him. Nothing to be gained at all. And there’s talk about getting the state charges thrown for double jeopardy. Again, he wouldn’t be facing capital punishment on those.

It's a deal from the deep state.

You see when Luigi shot that healthcare CEO, people reacted different than the powers that be expected. A great many people took Luigi's side. The deep state now knows this is a powder keg moment. Now normally the deepstate could just make him disappear like Epstein (who going to miss another pedophile). But the deepstate knows they cannot do that. So they cut a deal Luigi. You admit wrongdoing by pleading guilty. We will mock sentence you to life in prison. Then we send in a clone (like they did with jamie Foxx) to serve your sentence. Then they send Luigi into sort of deepstate relocation program. Where he'll live the rest of his days. It's not 100% freedom. But it's far far better than prison. Remaining in this is conditional on his continued silence. Failure to do so will result in a swift execution.

They were shit scared he would WALK FREE as a jury would most likely acquit him, and that would put the shitters on all legal branches.

Obviously not privy to what deal it is. But it must be good, if he's willing to plead guilty instead of walk free.
