I've had a friend's with benefits relationship. He was cool, we had this relationship for most of college. the reason why I think it worked is one I didn't like his personality on a relationship level and I was not attracted to his face. he was 6'4 very well built but his face was average at most. Our thing ended well we are still friends to date.
Eh, I've had several friends with benefits situations that never had any complications.
As long as neither person wants something more, it can work just fine.

Not 'always' true... I have just such a relationship that has been off/on between relationship for the past five years or so. Although in general, I cannot refute your article- the horror stories are plenty.
Based on what I've read about the research into the subject, females are more predisposed to these things and guys have these issues noticeably less so.
And to not just girls but also guys, I would say learn to control your feelings as best you can because these same issues any relationship and you'd do well to learn those skills... and if you do then friends with benefits shouldn't be an issue either.
Your title should have been "Why friends with benefits is bad for girls" because for guys, it's completely ok. We don't often get emotionally attached to the female. We don't buy the cow when the milk is free.

Totally accurate. Im going through this. A guy i have been sleeping around with we began dating. We have been sleeping around. for a year, and he doesn't care. I am. here stuck in the worst mindset. Sex feels good. Yeah, it may better to be in a real, caring relationship, but if you don't have that right now, might as well get some anyway. And better someone you like as a friend instead of a complete stranger. Presumably less chance of an STD too.
I think sex with anyone aside from your spouse is a bad idea. Partly being Christian, but also because bg+gf relationships break up so much more easily.
Reasons 3 and 4 are part of why I limit female friends. The other reasons are because I confuse loneliness for love and I invest too much in one girl. Nothing they're doing wrong, I'm just predictable.
This is 100% true. It should be common sense, but sadly many people are lacking that.
Reading this, it only makes it clear you have the wrong idea about friends with benefits from the get go.
