How long would you wait to be with someone forever?

What would you do to eternally hold their hand?

"Yes, I'd wait for you." Most would say.

"I'd wait a thousand years!" Some would cry.

But if you knew for a fact you were going to live forever with the love of your life,

How long would you truly wait for them?

I would wait for her until the end of eternity. And if I can somehow cheat or avoid death, which I hope to, I will do exactly that. I would wait one hundred thousand years to be with her for only a day. I will wait sixty or seventy years just to hold her hand for my final few seconds, or lay my hand upon her face for that final fraction of an instant. I may even wait all my life, in which case I will wait for her indefinitely in the hereafter. I will wait as long as I have to, because although I wish I could be beside her forever, even the briefest moment would be worth it. I will let nothing stop me, not even my own mortality. I love her more than anything. I can only hope that she loves me someday...

I don't like forever. I really want to be honest and straight forward. Nothing really lasts forever so I would be lying if I said I would be with her forever. A lifetime can be contained into a single moment of a dream but you will wake up one day an the dream would be just an echo.

I would be with her until she no longer deserves to be with. Yeah that sounds pretty ugly but that is essentially what relationship is all about. You will stay with someone until they change for the worse and you can no longer bare living with them. That or one of you come to a timely ending and fulfill the 'till death do us part'

I'd wait lifetimes. Because I know the pain of loneliness. To be assured that you will never be wanted by those you held closest to you. To be told to your face that your life is meaningless by those you ince held dear. I woild wait eternity to simply have the feeling of being wanted. Being needed. Neing loved. Because I've felt it once. And like and idiot I took it for granted. I'd wait for eternity for the day to come, when I could finally feel true happiness. Unfortunately, I don't have eternity.

If love isn't a thing that can be controlled, then logically you wouldn't be able to wait for it; if you could, then it would follow that you have the control to delay when you were going to be loved, (which I have just shown earlier to be impossible since waiting implies a delayed action) therefore you can't wait for love. Love waits for you.

I'm not talking about waiting for love.
I'm talking about loving a person who loves you back, but as circumstances stand at the moment, you can't be together for a time (long distance for example, or in my case, being ready to marry the person to love but having to wait until your living, financial, and family situation has changed).
Not waiting for love, but waiting for the person you love.

If I'm effectively immortal, I probably wouldn't worry too much about love. I'd instead spend my time at a university, absorbing knowledge.

I'd also put some money in a term deposit at a bank, so compound interest could do its magic.
