How is this counter to monogamy?
Seems like that person likes many relationships with new people.
I've seen that with my friends, then they found the one person they didn't want to move on from.

I always saw it this way:
-Limiting yourself to one person prevents you from meeting new people who could be better
-Monogamy requires that you give up your sovereignty to your body

Sounds legit to me. Though usually once someone gets attached... even without plans for monogamy... there is drama (men too!) that takes away from the positive parts. Humans are funny creatures.

I agree, being tied down to one woman early on is ridiculous. The odds of you finding someone better is likely.
