You are right, imagine getting dumped, not by one person, which feels terrible, but two people at the same time. Imagine relationships that just compound or multiply the amount of suffering one deals with, and that's the best description for polyamory.
The Bible talks about something like polyamory. It says Jacob (Israel) had 4 women in his life: Rachel, Leah, and their handmaids. All gave him kids but it couldn't be called a happy home. The sisters probably fought over this one man, his eldest son slept with one of the handmaids, and Jacob practised favouritism (with Joseph) and the other brothers hated Joseph.
Agree mostly. Polyamory and polygamy are both destructive and bad for society. The West needs monogamy to survive and thrive.
great take! yeah I'm not a person who's ever wanted to be part of polyamory but with me its like "if someone else wants to be involved in that, its their thing". I do see it as easily being disruptive though
yeah I'm seeing the poly relationships having a miserable failure rate. I need to show this to someone later. They need some perspective. It's clear that in the end it's self destructive and why most religions reformed to have 1 husband/1 wife dynamic. It's a more beautiful one to have too. you not needing anyone else in this life but your one true love. Love that words can't really give credit to... I want this more than anything.

Guys think they are in favour of polygamy, but don't realize in a polygamous system, most men don't get mates. Monogamy came about so that beta males can get sex, and low value females get commitment and resources. Also to limit infanticide.

Nope. Monogamy does not work. Not matter how well you treat women they will still not be happy and usually cheat. Treating women well and being loyal only makes you lose.
