"Monogamy" a desperate choice or a wise commitment?

Question

I can say I had my fair share of relationships, I experienced love, monogamous relationships and even polyamorous ones, and in all conditions my main rule was honesty !

"Honesty" the simplest and most valuable thing in any relationship, yet it seems harder than physics to understand for most humans nowadays...

what brought this question to my mind were the comments i were hearing around, like: I couldn't find better than him (or her), it's not like I'm gonna be young for ever, it's time for me to settle... etc
which sounds like a desperate decision to me !
in my opinion the answers should've been like: he's or she's the one for me, we make a great team.. etc now that's a wise choice !

coz it depends on the people itself.
i have a friend who's really possessive up to the point that he won't even let his SO wear normal swim wear when swimming in public coz he get jealous if other stare at her.
So I would say monogamous suit him coz he is possessive?

Problem is I couldn't agree with non-monogamous as well. if you really like someone up to the point she is everything to you. how the hell you want to share her with anyone? Although you probably alright at the beginning but in long term won't you get jealous?

And i couldn't agree with monogamous as well. humans are greedy by nature? ok you can be satisfied with your SO right now. how about 20 years later? 40 years? 60 years? What I mean some people probably able to do that all his life. while some can't. that's their nature.

a relationship built on honesty is better than lies.

but it doesn't mean polyamory is better than monogamy as a whole

There's nothing wrong with polygamy, if all the people involved want that. I just wouldn't personally want that in under any circumstances. For a person who doesn't want to be in a polyamorous relationship, it's not any better than a monogamous relationship based on lies. Both are relationships they don't want to be in. People who want polygamy seek that and people who want monogamy seek that instead. It's none of anyone else's business what other people do with their love lives, but polygamy and monogamy can't be compared in that manner, because most people wouldn't want to trade one for the other. It's a lifestyle choice.

I feel like I can only see myself in a monogamous relationship. I'm the jealous lover. Lol
But really jokes aside, I feel like mostly people can't see themselves in a polyamorous relationship. It's a wise decision according to me and will always be. But again, If you think polyamory is the answer to your question go ahead. I just won't be involved.

Depends. It is true that not everyone is made for monogamy, but it's also true that not everyone is made for polygamy
I know that I wouldn't be happy in a polygamous relationship, so I'd rather be single than be in an honest polyamorous relationship or a monogamous one based on lies.

I think in a lot of monogamous relationships the people do think their partner is the one for them. And i think that relationship is much more meaningful than a polyamorous one.
