There are many advantages to dating a boss, but there are also some cons. Check out the list below:

1. Money Over Love

His or her career is his first love.

2. Late Hours

He or she works late and has an irregular work schedule.

3. Cancelled Dates

He or she has to cancel dates or plans for work.

4. Delayed Responses

You talk to his or her more assistant than you. When he or she finally responds, he really is busy.

5. All Business, No Play

He or she has to be connected all the time. He'll always be on his phone closing the next deal.

6. Travel

He or she may have to do a lot of traveling for work, leaving you to hold down the fort on your own.

7. No "Us" Time

You never have your partner to yourself because they are always on "work" mode.

8. Stress

He or she is always stressed out from work and he or she may take it out on you when work is brought home.

9. Intimidation

Because your partner is so successful, you are sometimes intimidated by his or her success. Instead be inspired so you can be a power couple!

10. Boss Demeanor

He or she forgets you are not an employee and may talk to you a little crazy. Check him or her and remind them you are in a relationship. This is a partnership!

I am a boss. I would say this is half true. I did not spend all my time trying to move up as I knew it could take over my life. But I am high enough in the organization to make a lot of money and have some nice perks. Stress is there, travel can at certain times be a lot but was mainly within my control as to how much, but number ten was the one that showed upmin our lives but even then not so much... My wife said to me on a few, note few, occassions that she did not work for me as I talked to her like my assistant or staff memeber... Meaning very prescriptive and directive.

But I have loved her and tried not to bring work home since that would affect my home life. Yes, I have been told to stop checking messages but that has been rare. What she got in return is everything she needed to raise our kids including the time to be a stay at home mom. She doesn't care too much for material things but she has them all... Houses, cars, big vacations, the best of whatever she wants. She has experienced and learned a lot since that is part of who I am and comes with the package. So yes there are some negatives but also some great positives. If we were both just working lower jobs there would be different negatives so it is a trade off.

I'd say 2.3.4.6 is true, the rest might not always. I see my dad does this a lot to my mom, he travels a lot, gives late responses, works late, cancels dinners a lot; but no matter how busy the week is, he's always home in Saturday and Sunday for his family. So there's always us time in my family, I'm grateful for that 😊

also, one may lose some of their "near the water cooler" chums because they won't be able to complain about the boss with them. In fact, people will start treating them differently, and will just conveniently assume that one has got that promotion one has worked so hard for, only because they are sharing a bed with the boss

Dating your boss or any coworker is a bad idea. I've never done it myself but at my first job two of my coworkers dated and then still worked together after their break up. It only made it awkward when they worked post breakup and made it hard for shit to get done and the boss could tell.

Gotcha that makes more sense. I guess you could apply this same logic to workaholics that work so much and have no time for anything else. That's what happened to me with this girl recently. She got so tied down with work and her internship that she had no time for anything, not to mention she lives far away.

Your boss' boss is still your boss, and sleeping with him or her has a good chance of making your work relationship with your direct report even more difficult because they'll think you're gunning for their job and fucking your way to the top.
