He can be your hero!

He can be your hero!

Yes, even if he is more like this...

Girls, here's the deal. Guys want to be superheroes. They have since they were kids. They looked up to the likes of Batman, Superman, Captain America, and all the others as idols when they were growing up. They grew up wanting to be just like them. This carries on into adulthood as well; maybe not so much the crime fighting part, but the wanna be hero is still there. It especially carries off into the dating world.

When a guy meets a girl he likes he wants to be her superman, her number one, her knight in shining armor. This is not to say you are weak and in need of rescuing, I'm sure you can handle yourself, but a guy still feels like that is his calling. To be a hero to the girl he loves. When you don't treat him like a hero, like he isn't needed, he feels a loss of purpose. He can be an extraordinary mechanic, a true macho-man, and the funniest guy in the world, but if he doesn't feel needed then he will feel worthless. Guys LOVE that feeling of being needed, and being the hero is what they strive for.

This want goes for many men, even if they aren't the hero type. They want to be your hero, even if he is no superman. In a relationship if the guy doesn't feel he has succeeded in being your hero he will be insecure, sad, and feel worthless. Here are some tips on letting your boyfriend feel like the hero:

  1. Ask him for help/appreciate the help he gives- Ladies, you don't need your boyfriend to do EVERYTHING. You are very capable of doing whatever you want on your own. That doesn't mean your guy shouldn't help though. Even if it's a small thing, try and get him to help. Let him be your hero, swooping down to help in your time of need. When he does give you help, you don't have to worship him, just let him know you are greatful for it

  2. Don't talk down to him- You are a strong, independent woman who don't need no man! But it's probably best not to say "don't need no man" to your man... Of coarse you don't NEED him. As number 1 said, you can handle life without needing him to do everything, but let him know he is still at least wanted, that he does indeed have a purpose. No guy wants to feel useless or like they can be replaced, so talk to him as if you don't know what you would do with out him. His happiness and heroism +1

  3. Let him know it- This is really easy; let him know he is your hero! Tell him about how much he means to you, how safe you feel with him, and how he is indeed your hero!

Letting your man be your hero will do wonders for his confidence, self esteem, and over all happiness. I hope I've helped a bit and thank you for reading!
