Do you think people generally go for people of the same level of attractiveness? Is it not possible to be liked by someone significantly more attractive?

Yes. As a general rule good looking people date good looking people, average date average, ugly date ugly. Its just how it goes.

This is why I get annoyed when people say about how they have this one ugly friend who has a really good looking partner therefore looks don't matter, its tedious, the reason they mention it is BECAUSE its an anomaly. If it happened all the time they wouldn't bother, as it wouldn't be noteworthy.

Of course it's possible... There are still what's called individuality. But in terms of majority, people tends to not do that.

Yes, people will generally go for someone the same level as attractiveness as them. HOWEVER, other factors quickly come in, such as personality, confidence, financial stability, etc. But looks are normally the first thing you judge about a person. Watch "sex appeal" documentary. It's very interesting and talks about this :)

It is indeed possible, not the norm though. Most of the couples I see are either equally hot or equally not. But there are exceptions to the rule of course. And anyway, the important thing is that you like the person right? Not his or her number on a superficial, made up scale of attractiveness ^-^

Well it depends what you mean by attractiveness. Generally people date people who look as good as them physically but you also have couples where one girl has a very attractive body and one guy has a very attractive personality.

Yes generally couples are around the same attractive wise, though I have seen the occasional couple were one is completely out of the others league.

Generally... though everyone has seen the fit, decent looking guy with the fat slob of a girl, or the attractive, fit girl with a fat slob of a guy. Exceptions don't make the rule, though.

The guy always has to be level lower in attractiveness.. or women would be crying "i'm really not that pretty"5 days a week.
