If he hates me why does he stare at me?

From the moment our eyes met, this guy that I know, all he does is stare at me! We had a friendship for a short while, he used to invite me to the diner he worked at, and would just stare at me when I came in! Parties he would stare at me the whole time, sit by me for a bit, brush his arm against mine, then would start from square one! When I brought up why does he stare at me, he got really mad, claimed that he hated me, and ended our friendship! Yet till this day at our mutual friend's parties, he still pulls the same crap he did before! He will just openly stare like I'm the only person in the room! If I move, he moves till he can watch me again! If I move near another guy, he hovers behind me with a scowl on his face staring at me! I just don't understand cause people have asked him if he liked me and he got really rude towards them! So what the hell is his deal?

He finds you attractive but is too insecure or embarrassed to deal with it in a mature manner. So he tries to mask his interest with indifference or dislike.. Simple as that. I would just ignore him until he either finally has the balls the to approach you like a gentleman or buggers off completely.. Not anything I'd worry about.
