Why do men cheat, then beg you to come back?

(just as a disclaimer, I know women cheat also) So recently I ended a relationship with a boyfriend of 3 years because I found out he cheated on me. I did the adult thing and just cut him out of my life. I didn't like mess up his car or cut up his clothes because I'm not a child. Everything was fine for about 3 weeks and I had moved on. About 4 days ago he's started calling and texting me and even emailing me that he wants me back and that he made a mistake. As of today he's already left 14 voicemail messages. I don't know I guess this is like a compound question lol. 1. Why do men cheat and beg for you to come back? 2. What can I do to let this guy know that I want nothing to do with him ever again? Thanks!

First of all, never take a cheater back. EVER! He's done it once, and he's perfectly able AND willing to do it again.
For the "they always beg us to take them back", I totally feel ya! My ex is doing that right now, I moved on and found someone else tons better than him and he can't stand it (he's also back with the girl he dated before me). I think that when they get "bored", on the moment, they don't want to "miss out" on the potential better. They think there's better somewhere else, whereas they already have it. Then, they realize what they have when it's gone. In that case, you. That's what your ex is doing: YOU are the best he's ever had and he's regretting and is coming back crawling on the floor begging you to take him back. I had 2 of my exes doing this. I cut them off short: no answer to texts, Facebook messages and tags, no answer to Snapchats, etc. I even deleted him from my "friends" on both Snapchat and Facebook. He apparently hasn't gotten the message yet, but he's not that dumb... I hope this helped you! =)

Listen, you are considering it, all women do. He cheated. That means he is immature. It means he is self centered. It means he is a liar.
SO... what you are really asking is why does an immature, self centered liar, not get the message. I think that speaks for itself. Go find a man that is more worthy of you.

I have known a LOT of people. I have been in a LOT of relationships. I have had a LOT of friends. Look at my age, I am 52. I am not cynical. I have a lot of life experience

that was in response to @ilovechipmong, Asker. But what does "You dont know me" have to do with anything? You were asking about why men come back and I gave the reasons. I can tell you how many men I have sat with over a beer and heard tell me of their row with their wife over her finding out about the other woman. To a man, they recount the story and how the "stupid" wife bought the lie. In addition, most of them swore up and down the affair was over. When asked they will tell you"Hell no!"
It is even worse if you get a table of men together. Each will begin to recount his tale. Everyone that has been caught has one. To a man they lied to the wife even when confessing. They painted the wife as an idiot, they still had the affair ongoing after they told the wife it was over.
