I made my girlfriend cry?

To start off, I'm a guy.
A while ago some guy called my girlfriend while she was in the shower. It was nearly midnight so I looked. I confess that I get quite jealous so when she got out of the shower I was quite off and just said "****** called you". She looked shocked and a bit confused as she checked her phone. And then she explained.

We talked for about an hour and I told her that I feel like there are new guy names popping up all the time. She said they aren't new, she just doesn't talk about the people she generally doesn't hang out with anymore. The guy that called her is a guy that has had a crush on her for a long time and won't leave her alone.

I was stupid enough to bring up something that we've already discussed, about her guy friends and one in particular. She then said sarcastically "I can always chain myself up here and never leave the house". I got upset and when she noticed she apologised and said it was a stupid joke, she hugged me and started to cry, apologising over and over.
I'm worried she actually feels this way. What do I do? Was I wrong to react the way I did?

A little jealousy is healthy but a girl can't help who calls her. I have men from years ago who don't leave me alone. It's a trust issue to look at her phone, however noticing a call and going through it are two different things. Here is something I notice. Your girlfriend left her phone out while she was in the shower. If she had something to hide she probably would have taken it in the bathroom with her worried something would pop up she didn't want you seeing. I would apologize to her and explain that you trust her.

I didn't go through her phone, I would never do that. But I see your point. She didn't even react when I told her I looked who was calling since I didn't know if it was important, it was almost midnight after all. If she did hide something she would also probably get defensive about that. I doubt she is hiding something, it's just she doesn't understand how beautiful she is and what guys are like.

I have the odd guy friend who calls but i will usually answer in front of my boyfriend as they are also old friends and i want to show him there is no need to worry. If it happens again, either answer the phone for her or get her to call them back in front of you. Nothing to hide so it won't be an issue!

No, she wanted to continue the conversation and we did.
She actually said that I should've answered. She's been trying to get this guy to stop, he told her friend that he won't until he had won her back. They were never anything similar to an item so he just seems like a weird guy. She texted him that night saying she didn't want to be rude but she would appreciate it if he backed off, that she loves me and is happy with me. He responded OK I understand, he's said that before though.

You weren't wrong, I think I would have done the same. We would both be wrong lol! She got sad after she saw you upset? Well thats different than yelling at her and then crying, don't worry, I think you're fine
