I cried during a movie about a dog, I related it to both of my late grandfather's because theyou were very close to their dogs. I let my guard down and cried. She responded by laughing at me. What do I do?

My husband laughs at me when I cry during movies or while reading a book. I just punch him in the gut and tell him to knock his shit off because I have a valid reason. He stops and cuddles me in response.

Buuuut, in your case I'd talk to her about it and if she's still an asshole express your dissapointment and start looking for better options in the girlfriend dept.

Break up with her. Obviously she is not a particularly empathetic woman and you probably don't want to have to bottle everything up for however long you are with her. So I would say break up with her, unless she has a damn good explanation for the behavior.

You just talk to her about why you cried. She probably has no idea why you would cry over a dog movie. It doesn't really seem like there's much communication as to why you're upset, just her seeing you cry over a dog movie.
