My girlfriend has a really slim upper body and she has a bigger bum and thicker thighs there not that big but she thinks they are. She does complain about them but I don't see the issue. So this afternoon i was sitting on your couch and she came in and lay next to me and but her legs over me and I jokingly said "get your big fat legs off me" and stared to laugh she got really upset and starting crying say that I'm so horrible and she hates me, I really didn't mean it in a bad way I was only jokeing with her. She won't speak to me. what can I do to make her forgive me?

Yeah never do that. From now on, no matter how many times you call her beautiful, she will always remember the time you called her legs fat.

Understand that she may not forgive you for this. As her boyfriend, you are supposed to be the person who is closest to her and who she trusts completely. And you've damaged that by making fun of something she was already insecure about. How is she supposed to feel comfortable around you now?

Well if she is indeed fat or chubby, it's no secret, is it? Surely she isn't that delusional. So the fact that you called her what she is, should not necessarily be the issue unless you said it in a derogatory way, in which case grovel, apologise, explain, do what you can to make her feel good about herself and how you see her.

Tell her it was just a joke, apologize and give her time. I think that since it was just a joke it shouldn't be such a big deal, but now that you know that she reacts like that, tell her you'll never to it again and keep your promise.
