Boyfriend is upset with me, will not talk to me?

So I blew up at my boyfriend for putting me on the back burner when we needed to have a much needed conversation. He went out with his best buddy one night, after he had told me he was only going out for a bit then will call me. It turned into 3 hours, no follow up letting me know his plan. I felt like my needs didn't matter. I called him to ask what he was doing, in which he coldly responded, I'm going home. He sounded like he had been drinking, which he promised he wouldn't do so we could talk. I got really upset and hung up on him. He expressed his anger about that and now is avoiding my offers to talk and settle things down. What can I do to get him to talk to me? Should I just stop all contact and let him come to me? If I keep apologizing he won't ever understand how he's hurt me. Any suggestions? And please be kind with your responses.

Update... ok so I went against everyone's advice (yeah, I know) and sent him a FB message. He agreed to talk tonite. It was something that just couldn't wait. Plus I'm a very persistent person. Lol. I just want us to be back to where things were, no drama, no tension.

Us men so do dread the "much needed conversation". It's the reason that going out was 3 hours and the drinking is involved. He should have just not went anywhere and manned up and saw you. Usually these talks are more important to the female and almost irrelevant and pointless to us. As for what you should do you should wait for him to reach out to you. You've apologized already for hanging up (you had the right to be upset with his showing you up).

Yes wait for him to come to you. You both were in the wrong, he didn't live up to his promises and you lashed out at him without thinking. You're not in the position to really be apologizing, you were meant to talk and sometimes talking can't wait. He doesn't understand and usually it can take people a couple days to sort out what they want and what they did be patient.

If he's not going to answer you there's not much use persisting. Wait for him to message you, but possibly let him know you're doing so.
