It can be. In a relationship you want to have certain activities or gestures that are exclusive between the two of you. Things that separate your relationship from that of two friends.

If earlicking if done in a sexual manner or I'd it was considered an exclusive gesture then it could be seen as cheating to do that with someone other than your SO.

I think, like most things in life, it is shades of grey and depends on the dynamic.

There are people, who if they licked my ear, it would be funny and harmless.

Then, there are the ones where it would have a much different feel and meaning.

i think cheating is doing something with a person that your partner would not approve is cheating. so ear licking, kissing, sex, fondling, whatever. if your partner isn't ok with that behavior it's cheating

well if you want to take it to a level of the absurd yes that is ridiculous. but shaking hands has nothing sexual associated with it (unless someone has a fetish) whereas ear licking clearly does have some sexual or at least romantic inference.
