I just stopped talking to her?

We've been friends for a couple years and have had on and off feelings for one another but nothing has ever panned out. The last few months I felt she was flirting with me again (maybe I'm misreading it) and I just stopped talking to her because it feels misleading. She's contacted me a couple times over the last couple months I've answered but I've have been short and told her I'm busy. I feel guilty for not explaining it to her. What would be the best way to deal with this?

Just stop responding to her altogether, you don't owe her an explanation. You know nothing is going to happen between you two, so shut the door and move on with your life.

how do you feel about her? If you feel that she flirting with you, then she probably is. Maybe this is your opportunity for something more with her.
