Sounds kind of creepy to me but that's just because I think of Gollum on LOTR when I hear the phrase 'my precious'. Not a term of endearment that's in the best taste. But realistically, I think he's definitely showing that you're growing on him when he says you're precious to him. I don't know... depends how long you've known each other and whether or not the attachment is necessary. Try asking him in a more subtle way, or even a direct way if subtle doesn't work, how he feels about you specifically. What exactly has him feeling so close to you? Open lines of communication are key in any romantic relationship at any level.

It's just a pet name. Don't think it has some hidden meaning, trust me on that. Guys don't do that. Just take it as an adorable pet name. He may just be trying it out, or maybe he was just in a super good mood, but wait and see how things go to see if his feelings for you have gotten stronger.
