My step sister and I seem to be getting along quite well, and there is definitely sexual tension although I have never kissed her. Is it a good or bad idea to try something?

I assume you mean a non-blood relative as opposed to a half sister. I have talked about this before.

Boy meets girl and they get married and have children.

Boy's father meets girl's mother and get married.

Boy's step mother is also his mother-in-law

Are boy and girl supposed to get divorced, then?
