What does it mean when a guy starts copying your words?

There's this guy I'm close to and I've noticed he started using the same words as me.
I've some words I made up and he started using those words. And he also writes words in the same way I do.
+ using the same emoji's (when I use a wink, he'll use a wink in his reply, etc.)

• Also we have like unique nicknames for each other.
• I've noticed he remembers like the really small things I thought he'd forget.
• One of my friends told him I thought we were growing apart because we are both really busy because of school atm and since then he started talking more to me and giving like really fast replies.

This might sound strange, but sometimes it feels like we're in a relationship. 😂

What does it mean when a guy starts copying your words?

It could mean a few things. Maybe he's trying to flatter you by showing that he's paying attention to what you say. Or, he could be trying to establish himself as an equal to you in the conversation. Maybe he's just a little nervous and feels more comfortable if he's saying the same things as you.

Of course, it could also be that he's just a copycat and likes the way you say things. If he's constantly copying your words and phrases, it might be a good idea to have a talk with him about it. Let him know that you've noticed and see what he has to say about it.

Yeah, it sounds like he likes you, too. When someone's copying your words or gestures it means they're building rapport with you and are basically saying: "I'm the same as you, you can trust me."

He's been subconsciously influenced by yr terminology. It happens a lot actually. It's how accents and stuff get started. Except Asians, they're cursed with accent for life. Though I find it funny.

That is called mirroring, people tend to do it subconsciously when attracted to or trying to earn the approval of the person they are interacting with. It can also be done intentionally to appear more likeable.
