What does it mean when a guy starts copying my slang?

the relationship w me n this guys is really complicated. He used to b down bad for me and i liked him but people said he was a player so i kinda backed away. later my friends told me he genuinely liked me n i realized how i fucked up. we distanced. then he started being really mean to me for weeks (he used to have a soft spot for me) n then he started becoming nicer again. i said some things to him that i realized how bad it was for me to say and how much i hurt him. he gives me mixed signals so i js gave up. he used to talk ab me to all his friends and smile a lot when he would mention me. recently i gave him a Christmas present and he seemed very happy, some of my friends even told me he walked into class smiling which they say it never happens. we talked ab the gift and other things for a little bit during text. i have this thing where i say “…” when I don't know what to say and recently after we talked he started using that when texting me and in group chats we r in. i also posted a story where it said ab how i liked communication and he liked it. pls lmk what this means.
