So why do some guys get in womens personal space?

There’s a guy I work with, who seems to think nothing of getting into women’s personal space.

The other day I noticed him get right up close to one of my female colleagues when he was talking to her. For a minute I thought there was something going on between them, but then I remembered she’s in a very stable happy relationship.

But twice since then he’s done the same thing to me. We were working side-by-side and he was about an inch from me and earlier today passed so close to me I had to move slightly so that he didn’t brush me with his arm. There was plenty of space around us, so there was no need for him to do that. He doesn’t come across as creepy and I don’t think fancies me as he’s done it to other women too, but why would someone do this?

I think some people don't know what personal space is. There was this guy in hs that would always talk like an inch from your face (to everyone). We would move back and he would move forward. I literally had to tell him to get the fuck out of my bubble on a few instances until he leaned to stop doing it lol

Ask him in front of others or the supervisor to back off and not get close to you. If he continues to get that close again turn around and tell him in a loud voice say never to touch you again. If he says anything about not touching you just say someone did and that he was extremely close to you when it happened then say it might be possible that someone else touched you but again he was extremely close to your body..

"A guy" is not "some guys".

And overall, some people just have a very loose concept of personal space and a tendency to violate it... regardless of gender in either regard.

I agree in principle but personally I have never had another woman ever do this to me. Only men.

I have found it is mostly Europeans that get close [ male and female are guilty ] with bad breath and no deodorant, not all are guilty of this but a lot are. I have never figured out why they get so close

Depends… Sometimes it’s cultural, sometimes it’s personal, sometimes it’s just unwanted contact.

Some chaps are socially awkward and perhaps think women don't require chick space.(I'm socially awkward, and used to unintentionally invade people's personal space, both men's and women's.)
