What does it mean when a guy looks down and smiles to him self every time I say something bold?

It depends on what you are saying that is bold? He is probably smiling because he is shocked by the things that are coming out of your mouth and thinks it’s funny that you are talking that way , he probably never heard a girl talk like you do and surprised by your words. He can’t look you in the eyes cuz he isn’t sure if you are being serious or just talking smack. Most people have different sense of humor when it comes down to things. If a girl said something bold to me that caught me off guard , that I didn’t think would come out of her mouth , I would look away and smile and think Damn , I can’t believe she said that to me and be shocked that those words came out of her mouth. It happens a lot lol

Based on my experience. He is either thinking that you are saying something with a lot of merit and so obvious. That it shouldn’t need to be said out loud. Or he feels that you have no idea of what you are talking about!

Some guys don’t show their feelings often so they look down to avoid laughing or revealing their feelings.


Some guys look away/down bc they immediately get a visual and their minds fly 10 steps past where you are in speaking… They look away to either calm themselves or spare themselves some embarrassment.


Some guys look away/down bc something you’re saying has pissed them off….


The meaning will depend on the guy and what his go-to reactions are….
