I don't think it means he doesn't care, maybe he's just allowing you to experiment. Or maybe he thinks he'll be able to join in. Either way, it's not absolute that he doesn't care. He probably just feels less threatened by a woman than a man because if you fooled around with another guy then he'd have a higher chance of losing you (in his eyes).
