Is it safe to say that all "hot" girls..are taken?

there was a girl at my work today who was extremely attractive. I made the assumption that she was taken, partly because I was afraid of being rejected but also because usually the jerkish guys get hot girls. though she was not with anyone, was is it OK for me to assume she had a jerk waiting for her at her/his place?

I've asked myself this question many times, and while I still don't know the answer...I think it's a false assumption.

In fact, I have reason to believe the opposite is true!

Most of the super-hot girls I know on Facebook are single (or at least claim to be). This doesn't mean I have a chance with any of them, or that we'd be a good match...but that's besides the point.

On the other hand, girls who are less physically perfect but could still be considered attractive in some ways and have nice personalities (ok, sometimes they don't even have that much) are always quickly taken.

There are so many girls who I feel I should have a decent chance with, but I find out that I'm wasting my time on them because they're in a long-term relationship already and have been for years. Or...maybe when I meet the girl, she's single...but then some other guy comes along and he's more head-strong than I am, and pretty soon they're engaged to be married!

It shouldn't surprise me, because I've actually heard some of these girls practically admit that they'll accept the first guy who proposes to them...they don't even really care who that is. THOSE are the girls who are taken quickly!

Hot girls, from what I can tell, are much more picky...they're more hesitant, they'll pretend you don't exist, and they never make up their mind. For guys, this is a double-edged sword, because it's everything we hate to go up against, but it's also what keeps the hot girls from being immediately "taken".

There's a general principle in life...the fruit that hangs low on the tree is easy to grab, but gets taken very quickly. The fruit that's at the top doesn't get taken very quickly, but you may never be able to climb high enough to reach it. This trade-off applies to success in business, science, show-biz...I don't know, pretty much everything...and so I would also assume, dating.

Maybe women have a different perspective?

honestly i have no clue and couldn't answer your question
i don't even bother with dates or anything
too worried about being rejected
i've been screwed over more times than i can count and i've even been called ugly to my face several times
even when i was in high-school and even after i left
even though i'm a half decent looking guy
i keep up my hygiene, have lots of real life work skills
can fix electronics or networking even fix computers and do some home repairs
i'm highly intelligent but it sucks that i have very little social skills
"got kicked out of tons of schools when i was younger and to make matters worse i had to teach myself when i went to high-school because they didn't bother teaching me even though i wanted to learn at a higher level than the rest of the students"

the thing that sucks is i live in an area without any decent jobs
i'm stuck at home jobless because of all the jobs requiring bi-lingual employees
i'm 23 at the moment just wish i could do something about my situation
i hate being single, it sucks
just wish i knew someone to share interests with but i know that's not going to happen since i have terrible social skills and can't pick up much on social ques, honestly i'm thinking about not bothering with even leaving my house anymore.

If anyone has their life worse than mine i'd like to hear it because the school system practically ruined my life

Not all hot girls you see are dating someone. You know to be honest not many hot girls are asked out by guys neway because the guys are too 'intimidated' and fearful of 'rejection'. I have a friend who's like soo pretty. But nope she has no bf.

Go and talk to her, get to know her, If she does have a bf, at least you got over tht 'rejection' hurdle and actually approached her.

What I've noticed about jerkish guys is that they're jerks, but their woman puts i over them. They act tough to everyone else, but if their woman says no to something, he wouldn't dream of doing it. Like my guy. Everyone thinks he's a jerk and that he must treat me soooooo badly and all that. Nobody knows he brings me flowers and calls me pet names and cries when I tell him I'll break up with him.
I can't understand why any other woman would stay with a jerk if they didn't have a softer side just for them.
Women love that, and that's why we go for 'jerks'. Because we feel special.

you can't just assume that. because think of it like this, before the hot girl got the boyfriend in the first place she had to be single...she wasn't born with a boyfriend. you can't assume they are ALL taken, that's why a lot of girls can be single because guys don't bother because they assume they have a man

No I don't think so. I don't know whether you'd find me attractive but I'm single right now. And I have quite a few girl friends who most think are very good looking and they are single as well. I think guys convince themselves that all pretty girls are taken but in reality probably half of them or less are. At least that's the way it seems with my friends that guys think are pretty.

That's a stupid generelization. I will say though that maybe in your area there might be a lot who are. I know that at the college I go to quite a few are taken, although there are quite a few who I wouldn't want because they are party hardy skanks, but no, not all hot girls are taken. It just takes a while to find someone. Also have more confidence. That's my biggest problem to. Trust me girls will notice if you do, and maybe you'll notice more girls too.

I guess in a sense, it's a good assumption to avoid the potential of being rejected but you never know. It's so not true to assume that all hot girls are taken. I'm not being cocky, but I know that I'm hot and I choose to be single. Why? Cause I love flirting with guys and just having fun! I can't have the same fun if I am tied down. Plus, my standards are ridiculously high and I just don't think anyone I've met so far is good enough for me.

For example, I'm hot and I'm single...I have high standards and I rather prefer being single and alone than with 'some common guy'. He needs to be special to be with me.
