Maybe some do but I bet they are outliers. If I want attention from a guy or girl for that matter then I'm not going to play hard to get. I don't have time for games and don't like playing them. Then again I'm a pretty direct person. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule and some girls get jealous when other girls get the attention and she doesn't. That's the old liking and wanting what you can't have.
