Do male professors have crushes on undergraduate students?

I have a huge crush on my professor.

1. I visit his office all the time.
2. I asked to work on research with him. He said yes.
3. Took a bunch of classes with him. I obviously did well.
4. Stutter sometimes when I talk to him.
5. Talk to him all the time. I even think he appreciates it. Great convos.

Are these obvious signs? What do you think?

Men love the idea of an innocent, submissive, young, beautiful female offering herself to them. If this man is 10 years older than you (tops) and not taken, AND you are over the age of 25, there is a legit chance for you two.

But grown men (past 35), especially most professors and any other mature, highly intelligent men are not able to date down intellectually. It physically hurts to hear dumb shit. To them, most female students like us are as intellectually stimulating as amoebas. Even if we were to be on par intellectually, we often fall way behind emotionally, in wisdom and in other life skills and accomplishemnts, that the power distribution is waaaay too uneven.

While this makes for a nice fetish and I don't doubt adult men sure try, in relationships it creates frustration, lack of respect, unity, distance and lack of understanding. That's why little girls (under 25-28) are nice to look at, but way too annoying to even consider.

But there is one type of male professor, to whom you are the ideal woman: the predator. These men are mostly narcissistic users and they ALWAYS seek out insecure women who are a lot younger than them, just because they are easy to manipulate and can't smell bullshit like experienced, more mature women do, thus will likely stay and put up with any abuse and mistreatment served and justified to them.

If this man has a pattern of flirting with students, if he is married, if he is over 40, he is WALKING RED FLAG! To him, you are just an object, a dumb little toy to lure in, use and discard after play.

Please note I am not saying this to hurt you or insult you. I am not calling you stupid either, I am sure no smarter than you! I just lived trough a lot of shit, witnessed stuff like this, read psychology for fun on this topic and have older sister type friends who teach and advise me to learn from.

PS. The reason I mention age 25 is because that's about the cut off point for the maturation of our frontal lobe. Females finish this process from ages 25-30 by the latest research, while male brain finishes this process around 30-35.

So yeah, there is very, very little chance to really attract a smart GOOD man so young. Only a smart predator.

No not usually since dating a student who's studying under you will get you fired and your career destroyed if your caught doing that you most likely will never work in teaching again. Plus it's illegal for a professor to date a student.

His actions don't seem out of the ordinary for any professor.
But yes, professors can have crushes on a student. They won't act on it and you would have to approach him after you won't be in his class anymore.

Because it could cause problems for his job if he did that. It is better if you are the one to ask him out when it comes to being with a professor/teacher. Maybe look him up online and ask him through a message. Try Facebook or something.

That's tricky. As long as consciously he was not giving higher marks though, I dont see an issue. Subconsciously if he liked you he would- not to say your work didn't deserve it though.

Simply being there isn't doing anything wrong. Nor is talking to him or liking him. Teachers do grade based on how they feel about their students.

The way I see it, professors date. So if he dated he would maybe meet a student from another school. That isn't an issue because he does not grade them and isn't their teacher. So why would this be?

I always say the same thing: it's run of the mill that someone his age is supposed to date. So what if I found him on tinder and he found out I'm a undergrad? Am I/is he off limits then too? I think it's really stupid

Some schools prohibit such relations until the student graduates. Also, I know a lot of his colleagues. If they happened to find out he was dating a former student he'd probably be the joke of the dept :(

I meant trouble like a bad idea. It's usually against policy to sleep with students and he could get fired. He's not going to go to jail or anything crazy, but it may not be a risk he wants to take

Well if he is single than he probably is interested if he gives you that much time outside of office hours. However i think you should think about it before crossing the line with your professor. He is your teacher, your mentor. Thats how you want to remember him. You may potentially get hurt if ypu pursue it.

the "shallow" attraction grew as my knowledge of his interests grew. Academically, we share similar interests. Whatever topic I am passionate about, he is knowledgable of, so I reckon that's what made me interested in him.
