My boyfriend called me fat as a joke?

So me and my boyfriend were joking around having a good laugh or whatever then says 'you're too fat that's why'. At first I took it as a joke, then later on I was thinking about it and got kind of offended cause I wasn't sure if he was actually being serious or if it was completely a joke. So I overreacted a bit too much and said 'fuck you for calling me fat' he replied and said 'Ohh'. Then I said 'I realised that I didn't like the way you said it' then he said 'It was a joke wth'. After that I realised that he was actually joking and I overreacted and was a bit dramatic. So I told him that he should forget what I said because I overreacted and I kept sending him funny videos to change the topic. But he read my messages but never replied. I can tell he's mad. What should I do?

he shouldn't have made the joke. sure it's in jest but it can easily touch a nerve. but for your point if these things are being said jokingly then we need to try and not take offense

Was I wrong for overreacting? The reason he said that was because I sent him a tweet which said something along the lines of 'when you're having sex with your girl in the shower but you both slip and die' something like that. Then he sent laughing emojis and said 'You're too fat that's why' but I took it as a joke first so I don't know. Most of the time I don't take jokes seriously cause I make a lot of jokes too.

Give him a bit of breathing room, then when he comes around, explain that you’re sensitive about your weight and thought he as poking fun at you. For the record though, there is nothing wrong with being a curvier girl❤️

It’s hard to imagine him dating you if he wasn’t into your curvy figure. However, if you ever felt that was a problem, then I hope you’d leave. There’s nothing wrong with your body and you shouldn’t date anyone who made you feel otherwise :)

Look, usually I take things as a joke and we have great banter. I'm just someone that overthinks a lot cause I deal with anxiety. I deep things a lot so that's why. But I acknowledged that and told him but he hasn't replied. So.. it's whatever

I like my body but I know I have put on some weight. So maybe that's why. But he doesn't know I feel that way because it's something I like to keep to myself. I've always struggled with my weight. I was never fat but I was never average or slim. I was like over average but not to the point where I was fat. I was able to lose wight last year and felt confident about my body. I still love my body it's just because of the wight I've gained especially over the summer
