+1 yI wouldn't accept an open relationship but polygamy in the biblical sense (for marraige& kids) sounds good provided I could afford the lifestyle and could find 2-3 attractive women are more that love me and I love that are willing to go along with that but I doubt that happening. Polygamy would seem like a lot of work keeping multiple women satisfied sexually and emotionally but I often here many long term married men complaining that their wives have gone off sex since the baby so maybe with the extra women there's be more sex and the women would be more competitive and jealous which would raise their sex drive lol. I got hooked on a box set called big love which depicts a mormon polygamist and his three hot wives I guess that's why I like the idea.

+1 yI agree. But there HAS to be really really good communication among all parties.

Definitely. Otherwise someone will feel left out or like there's favoritism.

Exactly. As much as we'd like to, no one can read minds.
I think everyone can have their preferences and some people can really make it work. I just could not do it. It takes time and patience to be in a relationship with one person I don't know how I would do it with multiple people. Also what would happen if there was an emergency with both of your significant others at the same time, you would have to choose who you would go to first. There is too many possibilities for jealousy to me.

+1 yAs long as every person involved has agreed to it and are comfortable with such a thing, then why not? If nobody agreed to it, then it's cheating. The only way for it to work as an open relationship is exactly how it sounds. It needs to be open and agreed upon.
Personally I would never be in an open or polygamous relationship, but there are people who are down with it and that's fine.10 Reply
+1 yI, personally, would not be happy with such an arrangement, but I agree with you.
If all parties are in favour of the arrangement, that is completely fine. People can do what they like.10 Reply

+1 yIt depends on what type it is. If both the guy and the girl get to fuck other partners, then ehh it's ok I guess, but let's face it, they're really just roommates that have sex with each other, and not a true couple (even if they're married).
I have seen some very one-sided relationships like this, though - usually with a bisexual wife that wants to fuck other girls, but forbids her husband from having sex with any female but her. Any guy that would agree to that is a cuckold, and is not a real man. I just can't respect any guy that would be ok with that.10 Reply
+1 y"No one else can dictate someone's relationships as long as everyone involved is happy. "
The government can.
When a SC Justice asked the attorney for gay marriage why giving the right for gays to marry each other wouldn't also require the right for polygamy, the attorney (for the gays!) said, because the state could define what a marriage was.12 Reply- +1 y
We have plenty of fucked up laws. I was mostly talking about in dating, but I wish people could just be free to love.

Marriage licenses were made required for the primary purpose of preventing blacks and whites from marrying and for the secondary purpose to keep Mormons from having more than one wife.
well thing is women only would want poligamy if she was to have multiple partners and almost all if not all of them would be muscle bulls with abs and the shit, so, there you go, i wouldn´t ever accept this, because like my avatar says and well said to Babidi "you can have invaded my mind, but there is a thing a sayan always keep, his PRIDE !"

+1 yIn my opinion, polygamy should only be done during the dating phase, once you decide you have found someone who is just better than all the others. You should settle down and marry that person. Also if you ever are polygamous, do not cross the paths of each of your partners ever. It's disrespectful towards your partners and creates jealousy among them.
10 ReplyAdd long as they are fine with it, its their choice.
But personally I feel that the concept is shallow and looks down upon commitment and usually end up nasty.30 Reply
+1 yMeh. I want to start a family with that one special woman. Polygamy and open relationships seem like a recipe for drama to me. I have seen the drama happen first hand from friends who are swingers and open couples, even ones who swear they never would get jealous.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yAll parties consent, agree to, and are a part of, this relationship. When everyone is happy with it and nobody is controlling or using another side for their own gain, then it is fine and even fun if it leads to group sex that everyone takes part of and is satisfied afterward. No harsh feelings, no hate, no keeping one from the other. Sharing is a good thing.

Because they're just friends with benefits. They may be really good friends, but friends with benefits nonetheless.
Its another word for friends with benefits.

It really isn't though. Polygamy includes full on dating, time spent together, trust formed, etc, just with other people. Each person is aware of the situation and there are rules in place to keep it from becoming a jumbled messy situation.
