Yes it does, though the Oedipus Complex is a bit more complicated that mother-son incest. That said, I actually know - not well, admittedly - a mother son couple. They are expecting a baby, which seems to be healthy and developing normally based on test results, and seem wildly happy together.
Believe me, I do NOT favor legalizing incest, but these two look are not anything like the stereotype of an incestuous couple. The mother is older but actually not unattractive. The son is what you would picture as an all-American kid. Likes sports, seems to have lots of friends.
As I say, I do NOT favor legalizing incest and there is no doubt in my brain that we would be opening up Pandora's Box if we did legalize it. The main problem is not children born with birth defects - even nonrelated adults have kids with things like Down's Syndrome. We treat them with love and compassion. Rather, the bigger issue would be opening the door to molestation and all other types of family problems - and that would reverberate across the broader society.
Still, you meet this couple - and again, I do not know them well and met them through a research project in which my girlfriend is involved - and you gotta say, "These are nice, normal, likeable people."
The lesson I guess is that we have societal rules for VERY good reasons rooted in biology, evolution and culture - and we can't toss them away except at our peril. However, how we treat the people we meet should make room for generosity and a degree of even compassion and understanding. These were good people and I could not help wishing them happiness and congrats on their baby.

With the Oedipus Complex, the son has an unconscious sexual desire for their mother. It probably does exist, but I haven't seen it. It is clear as day on Bates Motel. No mother and son should be THAT close. Boardwalk Empire takes it to a different level

This is a scene from the second episode of the first season. I immediately thought the woman was his lover, but then found out that was his mother.
Well, that is more of an outdated Freudian theory (which has a lot of sexual underpinnings), but I'm sure it does occur. I think it's more of a "momma's boy" complex. It's her baby boy who made her feel special and important as a mother. I think it's more of a problem letting go of that relationship and letting him become a man. She sees a girlfriend competing for his time and affection, which makes her jealous.
no.
The oedipus complex is in reference to the relationship dynamics between a son and a mother. Felt only by the son as he gets older and understands the need to compete with his father (figuratively speaking) for his mother's attention.

When I was about ten, I made a friend named Will who was eleven. At first he was great, but then he started having just one main thing he would rant about to me: how hot his mom was and how he wanted to have sex with her. I found this really creepy and always wanted to change the subject. He would always describe graphically how he would watch her getting dressed. I hated this and stopped hanging out with him quickly. Later in a book I found out that this was called the Oedipus complex for boys, and the Electra complex for girls. So yes, I think it's real.
What you described isn't truly an Oedipus complex (or an Electra complex either). An Oedipus complex is a condition that exists in the child for his opposite sex parent and the desire to replace the parent of the same sex. In the case of a son, the son would desire to assume the role of his father with his mother. It really doesn't have anything to do with the mother desiring her son.
I believe it does exist in boys who are close with their mothers but cannot find girlfriends to satisfy their desires, so they look to the next best thing, i. e, their mum.
It’s more difficult to understand where a mother’s incestuous interest in her son may derive from, but my best guess is her own struggle to find a suitable man since the father of that sonYou see this all the time. Now that families are not so warm and close to each other people move away.. you see less f it. But then women, especially, transfer it to the grandson.
It can happen but it's very inappropriate behavior.
İts not normal. İt can be possible if she wearing/lookin extramaly sexy and you see her only a woman not other person. but it is not possible to feel like love and not possible to feel antyting in general life
>in my opinion, everything exists
Then go ask an English speaking unicorn.i could probably understand it more if it was a stepmother
