When should I invite him to my birthday dinner?

My boyfriend and I have just recently entered our relationship. We have known each other and been friends for a few months now. My dad just asked if I would be inviting him to my birthday dinner, which is 5 months from now. Said dinner is only close family - mom dad, sister and her boyfriend, aunt and uncle. I wanted to know how long I should wait to invite him.

Invite him a month before, especially if the relationship is new, it's a lot of pressure to invite someone to something that's 5 months in advanced, especially if you've been dating less than that amount of time because you can't guarantee you'll still be together

Sure why not? Invite him for dinner because that he way he can also get closer to you and your family hence in turn making the relationship better.
