Why do guys rush relationships?

I was seeing a guy for a few months and he was so intense/rushing all the steps of a relationship. Within 3 months, it felt like we dated, got married, and divorced! I know it sounds crazy but that's the way he acted towards me.

Why do guys act like this? This guy was older so that might be a reason he was so intense. I've read all sorts of things about guys with commitment issues (which he seemed to have since he couldn't call me his girlfriend even though we were practically married!) and about guys who are just in love with the idea of being with someone so much they pretend before they actually feel anything.

Anyone ever talk about marriage/pretend that things are very serious and then split? Why would you do this? And if you're going to say it's because you want to sleep with the girl, forget that answer since it wasn't the case! ha ha

Guys act stupid when they really like a woman. We forget what actually attracted you to us in the first place (challenge, mystery, etc.) and we get complacent. Instead of practicing self control and being patient, we get to yappin' and that's when it get's stupid. If we would just breathe and keep our mouth's shut, you wouldn't be here posting this question. There is only a small percentage of men out there who say and do all the right things with women. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this guy is not in the small percentage.

And your time frame does not sound crazy. I have talked about a marriage with a woman, but she brought it up and my only reply was, "That sounds nice." I guess that's not really talking about it. HA. She didn't like that answer, but after 4 months of dating, I too am not ready to get married.

Thanks for your response. I didn't think it was too common! In my case, he was the one always bringing up marriage all the time and I tried to cool his heels since I don't think you should be bringing up this talk in the beginning. I felt like I was being tested to see what my preferences were so I always changed the subject. I don't see how guys could be actually feeling these things for girls so it just comes across as them leading you on. Especially when they can't commit to a relationshi

Im not sure why they do it exactly but my last boyfreind did this to me. We only dated three weeks but we started dating two weeks after metting. He said I love you after a week of being offical. Then suddenly broke up with me for no reason except he wasn't ready for a girlfreind. Maybe your guy and mine were just so excited to be in a relationship they moved too fast and then got scared

Sorry you had to go through that too... Mine told me he was scared, basically terrified of everything moving so fast but you can't really go backwards from that and since he built it up so much, I expected too much from him to settle for half as much when he realized this.

Yea, it really sucks because they are the one that wanted to move so fast, at least for me. I figure you too based on the question why do tehy move so fast

No actually I didn't... he seemed very self assured and confident about his feelings
